Good day k-drama fans/panel of judges, Today we are going to be justifying the villain of Achlemy of Souls. we all know JIN MU, Yes the character that made us want to smash our screens or made us scream on top of our lungs from June 2022 to January 2023, Yes that Jin mu from Alchemy of souls. He is the villain to face our panel of judges today.
we definitely can deny the fact that Alchemy of souls was a master piece with Jang Uk being a lively person and naksu in Mudeok's body a moody savage lady in season one to Jank Uk being the young hot and moody mage and naksu the lively one, both of them completely switching characters in season 2. we had Jin mu always lucking in the dark doing crazy evil schemes making us loose our minds.
Now the question is
Is Jin Mu actions to be justified?
The character Jin Mu, the Vice-minister of Cheonbu Gwan and half-brother to Jin Ho Kyung, holds a prominent position in the royal agency responsible for examining and recording celestial events. Additionally, he serves as a teacher, leading the crown prince's artistic performance and maintaining close ties with the royal family. Known for his outspoken nature, he is characterized by a strong drive for personal ambition.
Jin Mu takes on the prestigious role of Gwanju, holding sway over the royal family. Unfortunately, he steers his influence toward personal gains, showcasing a self-centered nature and a willingness to use any means to achieve his dreams.
Jin Mu has a fervent desire for the extraordinary power locked within the Ice Stone, yearning for the incredible gift of immortality. Dreaming of the chance to infuse his essence into a more vibrant and youthful form, he seeks the artifact to bask in endless power for an eternity.
As the behind-the-scenes leader of a secret society, Jin Mu guides soul shifters through forbidden practices, including the mysterious alchemy of souls. In this clandestine community, he encourages members to share their powers when needed, shedding light on his intriguing yet dubious character and his relentless quest for ultimate power.
Now lets list his actions shall we .....
- Naksu's father was killed because he was a soulshifter and had ran wild when she was younger by the four great families. He made use of naksu's misunderstanding and trained naksu into a shadow assasin so as to use her as apawn to get the families. i guess we have to thank him for making naksu into such a great mage which made jank uk want her as his master and bought them together but the point is he fooled naksu into targeting people who were simply trying to save people from her father who had ran wild.
- He decieves his own sister, Jin Ho-gyeong, by orchestrating a ruse involving So-i, who pretends to be Jin Ho-gyeong’s estranged daughter, Bu-yeon. Coercively, he compels So-i to carry out his wishes by implanting a blood parasite in her body, a condition she must endure until the end of her days.
- He cleverly taps into the crown prince Go Won's concerns, turning them to his advantage. He assures Go Won of increased power, surpassing even Jang Uk, and promises to keep Jang Uk, born under the King’s Star, from posing a threat to the throne.
- He decieves the queen and made her think he would help her shift into a younger and beautiful body so she engages in his schemes
- He makes the king blindly follow his advice and help him to destroy the world
- He got rid of the turtle Mudeok advised Go Won to adopt and labeled it as "weakness"
- He brain washed the prince, Go Won Into thinking what he he says is right
- He also transfers his soul into Yun-o’s body. To make matters more complicated, he convinces the king and the mages of the Unanimous Assembly, tempting them with promises of power, to help him snatch the fire bird from Jinyowon. This whole scheme nearly ends up harming his own sister along the way.
- He planed to awaken the fire bird; the bird is said to burn everything in its path and turn the world to ash
- At his demise he expressed no sign of regret.
